Despite the benefits and availability of remote care technologies in Australia, they have seen slow adoption due to a lack of fit within broader funding models, according to a report from the Australian Productivity Commission. The report highlighted the absence of dedicated reimbursement routes for digital therapeutics and selected cases for remote patient monitoring. It suggests tailored funding for high-value, cost-effective applications and striking a balance between incentivising uptake while ensuring suitability to individual patient needs.
