Sensitive records office data accessed in cyber attack on health board

Sensitive data from Scotland’s National Records of Scotland (NRS) was among material accessed and published during a cyber attack on the NHS Dumfries and Galloway’s IT network in March 2024. It included data on fewer than 50 people from statutory birth, death, and marriage registers. The NRS said it has been used for administrative service by the NHS.
