Cyber attack hits major NHS hospitals as operations cancelled

Major London hospitals have declared a critical incident after a cyber attack on the NHS’s IT firm Synnovis disrupted patient care. The ransomware attack has particularly affected pathology services, causing delays in the retrieval of test results and forcing the cancellation of surgeries. An NHS spokesperson apologised for the impact on patients and their families, while Synnovis CEO Mark Dollar said they were working to assess the impact and restore services.
