Critical incident at London hospitals due to cyber attack with surgeries cancelled

Major London hospitals cancelled operations and lost blood transfusions after a ransomware cyber attack targeted pathology services provider Synnovis. The company was formed through partnerships between SynLab UK & Ireland, NHS Foundation Trusts at Guy’s, St Thomas’ and King’s College Hospital. The incident affected hospitals across the capital including Guy’s, St Thomas’, Royal Brompton and Evelina London Children’s Hospital. Hospital officials are determining which work can safely continue while patients have been redirected or have appointments cancelled.
