London hospitals cancel operations and appointments after being hit in ransomware attack

A cyberattack on Synnovis, a London-based provider of pathology laboratory services, has forced several London hospitals, including King’s College and Guy’s and St Thomas’, to cancel operations and turn away patients. CEO Mark Dollar said the ransomware attack affected all of Synnovis’ IT systems while NHS England London confirmed a ‘major impact’ on service delivery, especially blood transfusions. Efforts to understand the attack are ongoing.
