Former cyber security boss ‘believes a Russian group’ is behind the NHS ‘major IT incident’

A cyber attack on UK health services, including London NHS hospitals, is believed to have been orchestrated by a Russian group known as Qilin. The attack, which involved ransomware disrupting systems, caused numerous procedures to be cancelled or moved. Ciaran Martin, a former executive at the National Cyber Security Centre, claims Moscow may be involved, and highlighted Qilin’s previous attacks worldwide.
