A cyber-attack, believed to have been carried out by a Russian group, has disrupted IT systems in London’s NHS hospitals, forcing them to revert to using paper records. The attack, thought to be by the Qilin group, has resulted in cancellations of operations, blood tests, and blood transfusions in seven hospitals. The hack, while resulting in a major disruption of services, could also mean that results guiding patients’ care may have been manipulated.
