Russian crime group behind London hospitals cyber-attack, says expert | Hacking

A Russian cybercriminal entity known as Qilin purportedly launched a disruptive ransomware attack on Synnovis, hobbling the operations of several vital London NHS hospitals. The attack resulted in a serious contraction of services and led to the cancellation of tests and surgical operations. Notably, major hospitals including Royal Brompton and Evelina London children’s facilities were impacted. As per former National Cyber Security Centre chief, Ciaran Martin, the attack was possibly engineered to extort a ransom.
