Former cyber security boss ‘believes a Russian group’ is behind the NHS ‘major IT incident’

A ransomware attack on IT services of the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK has led to disruptions in services and cancellation of procedures. A Russian cyber-criminal group called Qilin is suspected to be behind the attack, which reportedly targeted Synnovis, a pathology services provider and NHS partner. The incident has particularly impacted blood transfusion services.
