Russian hackers behind London hospitals cyberattack

Pathology services firm Synnovis suffered a major ransomware attack by the Russian group Qilin, resulting in severe capacity reduction prompting hospital operation cancellations and test postponements. Qilin operates freely from Russia, offering cybercrime-to-order to other criminals for a slice of the profits. The NHS has activated mutual aid procedures to redistribute workloads, and authorities have created a special crisis-response team while investigations continue.
