Ransomware computer attack on London hospitals still ‘critical’ incident with operations cancelled

Major London hospitals continue to cancel operations due to a ransomware attack, which has particularly impacted blood transfusions and test results. The cyberattack was first detected on Synnovis, a computer firm providing pathology services to the healthcare sector. Despite deploying a taskforce of IT experts, services remain reduced. A former head of the National Cyber Security Centre suggested that a Russian cybercrime group may be responsible, but this remains unconfirmed.
