London hospitals: Trainee medics urged to help after cyber-attack

Medical students have been asked to help London hospitals recover from a major cyber attack that has disrupted services including blood transfusions and test results. The cyber attack, believed to have been carried out by a Russian group Qilin, targeted services provided by pathology firm Synnovis. Students have been asked to volunteer for 10 or 12-hour shifts to deliver blood tests in a move to minimise disruption to patient care.
