NHS hospitals, including King’s College Hospital and the Evelina London Children’s Hospital, were significantly affected by a ransomware cyber attack, believed to have been executed by a Russian group called Qilin. The attack targeted pathology partner Synnovis, disrupting services and causing procedure cancellations, particularly impacting blood transfusions. In response, NHS Blood and Transplant is urgently appealing for O-Positive and O-Negative blood donors.
