Appeal for O-type blood donors after cyber attack affected London hospitals

The NHS is asking for donors with O-type blood to visit one of the 25 NHS Blood Donor Centres in England following a cyber attack on pathology firm Synnovis. The attack resulted in several London hospitals having to cancel operations, tests, and blood transfusions as they were unable to match patients’ blood types. In response, the NHS is increasing their stocks of O-positive and O-negative blood types, which are safe for all patients and crucial in emergency situations.
