Further action in healthcare assistant pay dispute

Healthcare assistants in Teesside, members of the Unison union, have initiated a five-day strike over unpaid clinical work and back pay. Both North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Trust and South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust have committed to pay staff for work from 2021 onwards, however, Unison demands negotiation on extended back pay period. The current action marks the union’s fourth strike, with further action planned.
