The NHS has issued an urgent call for blood donors, particularly those with O type blood, after a cyber attack on pathology firm Synnovis disrupted several major hospitals in London, including King’s College Hospital and Guy’s and St. Thomas’. The attack led to serious IT issues, causing operations and tests to be cancelled. Current disruption means that hospitals are unable to match patient blood as normal, according to NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT).
