Healthcare research report reveals exploitable vulnerabilities that allow hackers to breach devices, systems

A joint research project has uncovered almost 1,000 vulnerabilities in 966 medical products, marking a 59% increase since 2022. This could allow hackers to breach healthcare systems and access sensitive data, with the healthcare sector seeing a 60% rise in data breaches. Of the vulnerabilities found, 160 have been weaponized and 101 are “trending in the wild.” This presents an increasingly severe challenge for the healthcare sector, which has seen a rise in Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) groups using ransomware to hold systems and data hostage for payment.
