NHSDG warns over 100,000 patients to assume data has been published

NHS Dumfries and Galloway is warning almost 150,000 patients to assume personal data may have been stolen and published online due to a ransomware attack in March 2024. In a leaflet distributed to the community, the health board advises vigilance against computer system tampering or those claiming to possess stolen data, potential risks include identity theft, security, extortion, and anxiety.
