Over 380K more NYC students had info leaked, bringing total to over 1M

More than 1 million New York public-school students have had their personal data hacked, including additional 380,000 students recently notified about the cyber attack. The breached data, from a 2021-2022 hack involving former software vendor Illuminate, includes students’ names, dates of birth, ethnicity, academic records and school enrollment details. No social security or financial information was compromised. Students hit by the breach are being offered free credit and identity-monitoring services for two years.
