Russia-linked Qilin group says it was responsible for London hospitals cyberattack

The London NHS trust cyberattack, resulting in the cancellation of 800 operations and around 700 outpatient appointments, was reportedly carried out by Russian hackers, Qilin. The group is demanding a $50m ransom from Synnovis, the provider of pathology services for the Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. The hackers claim the attack was in retaliation to the UK government’s support for unnamed wars. Synnovis is still investigating the impact of the attack.
