Hackers publish NHS patients’ names and blood tests after ‘demanding ransom’

Sensitive patient data from an NHS blood testing database, reportedly stolen by Russian cyber criminal group Qilin, has allegedly been published online. The cyber attack caused widespread disruption across multiple London hospitals. The exposed data includes patient names, dates of birth, NHS numbers, and descriptions of blood tests. Qilin had previously demanded a £40m ransom from the NHS provider. More than 3,300 operations and appointments have been cancelled so far due to the chaos.
