Hackers Published Sensitive Data Stolen From London Hospitals

A Russian-speaking hacker group, Qilin, has been accused of a cyber-attack on the NHS pathology provider, Synnovis, releasing 380GB of sensitive data and demanding a $50m ransom. The data reportedly includes sensitive patient information and financial records. This has severely impacted laboratory services, prompting the delay of over 1,000 surgeries and 2,000 appointments. The incident emphasises the growing threat of ransomware attacks on healthcare infrastructure and the need for enhanced cybersecurity measures.
