Sensitive data stolen from blood test provider by criminal group ‘published online’
Sensitive information has reportedly been published online after being stolen from an NHS provider in a cyber attack. Patient data was taken from Synnovis in the attack, which is believed to have been carried out by Russian group Qilin. The cyber criminal group shared almost 400GB of data including patient names, dates of birth, and details of blood tests. The attack led to the postponement of more than 1,100 planned operations and 2,100 outpatient appointments.
