NHS issues urgent blood donation appeal after IT cyber attack leaves hospitals struggling to match patients
The NHS is appealing for O-type blood donors after a cyber attack caused disruption across major London hospitals, including King’s College Hospital and the Royal Brompton. The attack targeted pathology partner Synnovis, leading to many procedures being cancelled and affecting blood transfusion services in particular. The NHS Blood and Transplant is now urging O-Positive and O-Negative donors to make appointments at London’s 25 NHS donor centres.
