UK government weighs action against Russian hackers over NHS records theft | NHS
The UK National Crime Agency (NCA) might take action against Russian hackers Qilin for stealing and releasing NHS records covering 300 million patient interactions, including sensitive health data. The cyber attack method is believed to be ransomware, with a ransom of reportedly £40m ignored, leading to the release of the data. The NCA has successfully disrupted other ransomware groups in the past, such as the LockBit group.
