Data from NHS cyber attack ‘published online by cyber criminal group’

Synnovis, a pathology services company based in Southeast London, was targeted by a cyber attack attributed to Russian group Qilin, causing hundreds of cancelled operations and appointments. The culprits leaked 400GB of data on the darknet, including patient names, birth dates, NHS numbers, and blood test descriptions. According to NHS England, an investigation is underway involving the National Cyber Security Centre and other partners. To date, this has resulted in 1,134 planned operations and 2,194 outpatient appointments being postponed.
