Patients awaiting blood tests in the UK may face a six-month waiting period due to a ransomware attack on the National Health Service (NHS) by a Russian-based gang. The attack, which seized 300 million pieces of data, has resulted in limited capacity and interruption to services. Some patients paying for private clinics to avoid the waiting time. NHS service trusts have also had to cancel over 3,000 planned operations and appointments, including cancer procedures and organ transplants.
