Russian hackers behind NHS attack are part of Kremlin-protected cyber army

Russian hacking group Qilin, which recently conducted a major attack on the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), is part of a wider state-protected cyberarmy linked to the Kremlin, according to investigators. They suggest the hackers are seeking to destabilise the UK ahead of an election. The attack on NHS provider Synnovis on 3 June represents a “major escalation” of cyber warfare from the Kremlin, with national security concerns now raised across Western intelligence agencies.
