NHS hit by double blow this week as boss issues major warning

NHS chiefs have expressed concern about potentially “major disruption” as a result of a heatwave and planned strike action by junior doctors. Both are expected to culminate on Thursday, putting additional strain on services already affected by the recent cyber attack. Some concessions have been made to ensure certain critical care will continue, but the British Medical Association insists the strike will proceed. During the last junior doctors’ strike in February, over 91,000 appointments, procedures, and operations were cancelled.
