South east London appointments delayed due to NHS cyber attack
Synnovis, a pathology services provider, was attacked by Russian cyber gang Qilin in June, forcing King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust to postpone over 3,000 outpatient appointments and over 1,200 elective procedures. The BBC reports that almost 400GB of data was stolen and published online, including patients’ medical data. Pathology services are operating at 45% capacity due to the cyber attack.
