Data from NHS cyber attack that cancelled operations ‘published online by criminal group’

Synnovis, which provides pathology services on blood tests primarily in south-east London, was the victim of a cyberattack on June 3, allegedly carried out by Russian group Qilin. This has reportedly led to the publication of sensitive data online including patient details, caused the cancellation of thousands of operations and appointments, and resulted in 20,000 blood samples being destroyed. NHS England is currently advising patients and analyzing the published data.
