NHS England confirm patient data stolen in cyber attack
NHS England patient data, managed by pathology testing organisation Synnovis, was stolen during a ransomware attack by Russian group Qilin. The group shared almost 400GB of private data online after threatening to do such for extortion. The effects were disruptive, with over 3,000 GP and hospital appointments affected. However, investigations are currently underway and patients have been advised to maintain their schedules as normal.
