Groups Ask HHS for Guidance on Massive Change Breach Reports

Industry groups are asking the US Department of Health and Human Services’ Office for Civil Rights for further guidelines regarding the HIPAA breach notification process following a major data breach at healthcare software firm Change Healthcare. The groups want the regulatory burden to be placed on Change Healthcare, to avoid costs and resource drain on small healthcare providers.
