HHS Issues Alert on Critical Vulnerability in ‘MOVEit,’ File Transfer Platform Used by Health Care Sector

The US Health Sector Cybersecurity Coordination Center warns about a critical vulnerability in the health sector’s commonly used file transfer platform, MOVEit, which exposes healthcare organizations to cyberattacks. Last year, Russian group Cl0P exploited MOVEit vulnerabilities to steal millions of health records. Health organizations are advised to identify vulnerable instances of MOVEit and install patches released by the platform’s owners, Progress, to fix the vulnerability.
