Gauteng’s health lab test results delayed due to a cyber-attack

A ransomware attack on the National Health Laboratory Services (NHLS) in Gauteng, South Africa has caused delays in lab test results. The attackers targeted both the main IT system and backup servers, causing connectivity issues between the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and other databases and users. The breach has not exposed patient data, and results are currently being delivered via telephone.
