Home Office was warned about NHS cyber hacks months before Kremlin-backed attack
The UK Home Office was warned about the possibility of a severe ransomware attack several months before the NHS was actually targeted by hackers working under the protection of the Kremlin. A report from the Joint Committee on National Security Strategy (JCNSS) highlighted the “high risk” of a cyber attack, with the NHS identified as “particularly vulnerable”, and Britain being unprepared. The Committee suggested that policy on illegal migration was prioritised over the threat of ransomware.
