Settlement Proposed to Resolve Gifted Healthcare Data Breach Lawsuit

Gifted Healthcare has proposed a settlement for a class action lawsuit after it allegedly failed to establish proper cybersecurity measures, leading to a data breach. The breach exposed the personal information of 13,221 people, resulting in unauthorized attempts to open bank accounts and decreased credit scores, among other issues. Victims can make claims for up to $400 or $4,000 (in exceptional cases), plus receive three years of free credit monitoring or a $50 cash payment.
