Thousands of hospital appointments and procedures postponed after cyber attack
A ransomware cyberattack on NHS England on June 3 has resulted in the postponement of nearly 6,304 appointments and treatments. Officials claim most services are operating at near normal levels with urgent and emergency services unaffected, though pathology services are at 54% of their previous capacity. Russian cyber gang Qilin reportedly leaked data from the attack online, though NHS England disputes the published data comprises an entire database.
