Healthcare FinTech HealthyEquity Hit With Data Breach

HealthEquity has revealed in a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing that it suffered a data breach involving “protected health information”. The company found that a third-party vendor’s account had been compromised, and that the account had access to some of HealthEquity’s data. HealthEquity discovered the breach on 25 March, and completed an investigation in June, filed the SEC notification after an investigation and maintained it was not connected to other recent cyberattacks.
