NHS England confirm patient data stolen in cyber attack
NHS England confirmed that patient data managed by pathology testing organisation Synnovis was stolen in a June 3 ransomware attack by Russian cyber-criminal group Qilin, who shared around 400GB of private information on the darknet to extort money. The breach reportedly included patient names, NHS numbers, and blood test descriptions. The incident caused disruption to over 3,000 hospital and GP appointments.
