‘Out of date’ IT system leaves NHS at risk of further cyber attacks

The National Cyber Security Centre’s founding CEO, Professor Ciaran Martin, has warned that parts of the NHS’s IT system are “out of date” and at risk of further cyber attacks. More than 6,000 appointments and procedures were postponed at London hospitals due to a cyber attack in June. He highlighted outdated IT systems, identifying vulnerable points, and basic security practices as critical issues for the NHS to handle.
