Australia among several countries calling out China for cyber attacks

Australia has led an international alliance in releasing a security advisory highlighting China’s alleged cyber espionage activities. Co-signed by the Five Eyes alliance, Germany, Japan, and South Korea, the advisory focuses on group APT40 and links it to China’s Ministry of State Security. Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles suggests that publicly naming and shaming could deter such activities, a move attracting bipartisan support. However, the Chinese embassy in Canberra vehemently denied the accusations.
