Health officials apologise and explain Dorset data breaches
Over the past five years, Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust (DHC) has recorded the fourth highest number of data breaches in the UK at 3,017, with 672 in the past year alone. However, DHC and South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, also in the top ten, dispute the seriousness of these breaches, arguing the majority are due to minor errors and have not required reporting to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
