HIV diagnoses, patient data released in Florida health department hack

Thousands of sensitive health records of Florida residents, including HIV test results, COVID-19 diagnoses and immunization records, were seized by the hacker group RansomHub and released on the dark web. These records also contained personal information such as full names, addresses and social security numbers. The Florida Department of Health plans to notify individuals whose information was leaked. This cyberattack ranks among the worst data breaches in Florida’s history. The state has a policy of not paying ransoms to hackers.
