NHS expecting ‘major disruption’ due to heatwave and junior doctors’ strike, health bosses warn

The NHS is bracing for major disruption due to a combination of the current heatwave and an upcoming junior doctors’ strike. The heatwave is already straining the service, and potential cyber attacks could further impact hospitals running at reduced capacity. The strike, the eleventh by the British Medical Association (BMA), will take place on June 27. Despite preparations, routine care is expected to be widely disrupted given that junior doctors make up half of the medical workforce.
