Scores of intruders caught lurking in restricted areas across NHS Scotland health boards and even posing as staff

The Scottish National Health Service (NHS) has experienced 122 security breaches over a five-year period, with individuals found in restricted areas and some posing as staff. Union leaders attribute the security breaches to underinvestment in security and warn of patient and staff safety risks. A contributing factor could be the availability of fake NHS clothing featuring the service’s logo, sold online on websites such as Etsy, which could facilitate such impersonation attempts.
