‘Out of date’ IT system leaves NHS at risk of further cyber attacks

Over 6,000 appointments and procedures were postponed at major hospitals in London due to a Cyber attack in June. The ransomware attack led to patient data being published online. NHS England says there is “no evidence” the cyber criminals had published an entire database. The attack delayed 1,517 acute outpatient appointments and 136 elective procedures. Urgent and emergency services remained available as usual.
