Apple Watch to now include heart rate alerts

Apple has added heart-rate monitoring software to its latest model of smartwatch. The technology will display a wearer’s pulse on the face of the watch and send warning notifications if an elevated heart rate is detected during a period of inactivity. Through its new Heart Rate App, data will be gathered on users’ activity and recovery rates. The University of California, San Francisco, recently found that an AI algorithm could detect heart fibrillation in Apple watches’ output with 97% accuracy.
