Crowdstrike CEO says outage not due to cyberattack or data breach
Austin-based cybersecurity software company, Crowdstrike, has blamed a “bug” in a software update for a significant internet outage affecting multiple industries, including banking, airlines, and hospitals. CEO, George Kurtz, denied the incident was due to a cyberattack or data breach. The company’s Falcon product was at the heart of the error. The outage caused many users to face a “blue screen of death,”
and Crowdstrike has been working on rolling back the update.
