Pakistan to establish cybersecurity authority
Pakistan is setting up a national cybersecurity authority by next year to prevent data breaches and cyber attacks on national institutions. The National Cyber Emergency Response Team is establishing a lab to ensure organizations deploy fool-proof security measures. Lab certification will become mandatory from July 1, 2028. An IMF study revealed that 20,000 cyber-attacks in the last 20 years caused $20 billion in losses globally.
